Celebrity Cruises' new river cruise division isn't sailing until 2027, but exciting news of the ship names, design details, and itineraries has been announced nonetheless. From restaurants and bars that Celebrity Cruises fans know and love to innovative designs that we're anxious to see actualized, Celebrity River Cruises is shaking up the river cruise industry.
Pre-sales sold out in just six minutes when they opened in early September 2025, proving popular demand for the new river cruise line.
Ship Names Are Announced
The first two ships of the 10 on order for Celebrity Cruises are named Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker. The cruise line's unmistakable “X” will be prominently displayed on the sides of the ships, featuring an innovative hull design that provides lightweight versatility to enhance river navigation.
Sleek Interior Design Celebrity Cruises is Known For
New renderings of Celebrity River Cruises showcase a sleek and sophisticated design that the cruise line is known for. The sweeping staircase echoes those on Celebrity Edge-class ships. The location of prominently displayed art is a mainstay of the brand and will continue to have outstanding placement, as seen in the cruise ship lobby.
Five Categories of Staterooms
Five boutique stateroom categories will be available to book, including Skylight Infinite Balcony Suites, Vista Balcony Suites, Balcony staterooms, Infinite Balcony staterooms, and River View staterooms.
First-Ever Skylight Suites
Celebrity River Cruises takes suites to a new level, bringing the first-ever skylights to its suites. This thoughtful design element will allow the room to be flooded with natural light in ways not previously possible on competing river cruise ship lines.
Infinity Plunge Pool
The infinity plunge pool will allow guests to take a cooling dip during hot summers in Europe while enjoying river views. Additional lounge seating on Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker's outdoor decks gives guests multiple options for taking in the sights and sounds of the rivers.
Eight Restaurants & Bars with Surprising Magic Edge Pods
Eight restaurants and bars will give guests the most choice and variety on the river. Celebrity-favorite venues like the Martini Bar, Sunset Bar, and Café Al Bacio will make repeat Celebrity cruisers feel at home. Guests will also have the option to enjoy complimentary breakfast room service and flexible, all-day dining access, offering 24/7 meal options. Additionally, Celebrity River Cruise ships will feature the first-ever cantilevered dining pods, called “Magic Edge,” similar to Celebrity Edge-class ships' Magic Carpet concept.
Luxurious Stateroom Amenities
Each stateroom, regardless of category, will feature king-sized beds, complimentary stocked mini bars, and destination-inspired amenities. Guests can look forward to relaxing in the comfort of their temporary home during vacation with luxury linens, bedding, bathrobes, and slippers.
En-Suite Bathrooms
A peek into the Vista Balcony Suite bathroom reveals the continuation of the ship's sleek design element and attention to detail. One might wonder if the destination-inspired amenities that Celebrity River Cruises has mentioned will also feature local spa products.
Celebrity Extends its Loyalty Program to the Rivers
Celebrity Cruises Captain’s Club members’ loyalty tiers will extend to river vacations, giving guests access to new and different rewards, recognition, and elevated experiences from ship to shore. Members can earn 8 to 18 points per night on river vacations.

Celebrity's fleet of river ships advances the Royal Caribbean Group’s decades-long commitment to sustainability. The ships will be equipped with the best-in-class hybrid propulsion system, as well as advanced waste management systems, alongside technology designed to reduce noise and vibration.
Rhine & Danube River Itineraries
Thirty-three seven-night sailings on the Rhine and Danube in 2027 will take guests through the heart of Europe’s culture, history, and memorable cities. Guests can look forward to tasting regional wines, walking cobblestone village streets, and overnighting in ports, allowing guests to experience the full breadth a destination has to offer.
Pre-& Post-Cruise Extensions
Pre- and post-cruise stays will be available to book in early 2026, allowing guests to extend time in historic cities like Prague and Budapest, seamlessly arranged and elevated The Celebrity Way.
